Now we join forces with the Perkins/Stillwater Journal to
invite people to tell the story of their families in
Oklahoma History. These stories will be a part of a
History display at the Festival next year and some will
appear here on the OCHA website.

People made the journey to Oklahoma before and after
statehood. Some, like the many Indian tribes, did not
choose to come here but did choose to stay.
These people began to build a home and a nation.

Many diverse ethnic peoples came to establish towns
where they could start their own businesses and
have input in the burgeoning town's governments. Many
came to work the railroads and the mines that dotted the
Territory.  Some came for the run and all hoped for a
better life.

Add your family's story to this series by submitting it to
the
Perkins/Stillwater Journal.
